ASCB(E) is an international accrediting organisation that assesses and verifies Certification and Inspection Bodies to perform their QA activities. ASCB(E) operates in 35 countries. Its over-riding characteristic is its independence and the cross border facilitation of trade through the application of the quality assurance discipline. ASCB(E) maintains a register of Auditors and Assessors of management systems and this proves invaluable in identifying the right people for the right auditing job. ASCB(E) is respectful of conventional quality assurance methodology but recognises that 100% effectiveness sometimes leads to quite low levels of efficiency because bureaucratic methods tend to stifle and restrict business.
