Bembridge Powerboat Training based in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, was set up in 2004. We, BPT, Will Squibb and Sue McLagan purchased the business in 2011 and now runs the range of RYA Powerboat courses together with DA's and the ICC (necessary in many European and foreign countries). We also offer custom courses, including Introductions to a new boat, refresher courses and night time use of your boat. We run skippered charter in the Solent, around the Island and along the South Coast, can provide 'bareboat' ribs for daily, weekly or longer charter, subject to necessary PBL2 and an assessment by ourselves. BPT will arrange corporate days, team building events and Treasure Hunts, an opportunity to make your time on the water fun with the added bonus of 'competition'. Our ribs include the 'all new' Shearwater Venture, a 10 metre rib with inboard Yanmar 315 hp and our main training rib is a Redbay Stormforce 6.5 with twin 90 hp Suzuki outboards. In addition we have an 8.5 m Cobra (inboard Mercruiser 220 hp) and in 2012 an ex RNLI Atlantic 21, currently being rebuilt by Will's boatyard under the watchful eye of David, who until recently built and tested these craft at the RNLI Inshore Centre, Cowes, he is also an Instructor. We have Instructors and skippers to teach and assist on both sailing and motor yachts as well as ribs. Our clients come from far and wide and we provide PB courses at Flying Fish Cowes for Super Yacht crew and Maritime Security Officers.
