Susan Harris Welker, AIA, founded Harris Welker Architects in 2004. Susan is a Registered Architect and Registered Interior Designer in Texas and is a both a LEED® Accredited Professional and NCARB certified. She has served on the Executive Boards of American Institute of Architects (AIA), Austin Chapter and Wild Basin Nature Preserve. She regularly gives presentatiions on "How to Work with an Architect", Green Design, Energy Conservation, Modern Design and Universal Design. She founded the AIA Austin’s Architecture in Schools program and the Small Firms’ Roundtable and has taught the program to elementary school children for 6 years. Susan has been a Mentor with the University of Texas’ College of Architecture Mentorship Program, a member of the Rice Design Alliance, past president of the Rollingwood Neighborhood Association, Vice President of the Eanes TAG Association, and Fundraising Chair on the Westlake High School PTO. Susan is well known for her informative and insightful presentations. She brings a well organized and entertaining topic to beginner as well as advanced audiences.
