Summit Art is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting visual art and artists. Summit Art juried artist members, who are from the Kansas City metropolitan area, excel in the mediums of watercolor, oil, acrylic, drawing, mixed media, photography, glass, pottery, jewelry and digital art. Our mission is to encourage and promote artists and visual arts in Lee's Summit and beyond. We do this by providing opportunities for networking, education, exhibitions, events, and recognition for members and the art community. We respect, value and encourage an appreciation for art in an ethical and courteous manner. Our vision is to create an environment for visual artists in which they can exhibit, sell, learn, interact with peers, build inner confidence and add value to business and community. The Summit Art Festival, our annual signature event, is held in historic downtown Lee’s Summit, MO in October. Our Plein Air Festival is held annually in April at Crestview Dairy. Guest speakers at the monthly membership meetings are geared toward enhancing artistic knowledge while offering interaction and camaraderie within the membership for personal and professional growth. Summit Art offers a Youth Scholarship Fund to area high school students working toward obtaining a career in fine arts. Our organization manages several galleries in the Kansas City area including the Summit Art Gallery at Saint Luke's East Hospital and the Unity Village Chapel Art Gallery, in addition to many temporary exhibitions at various locations in the community throughout the year.
