Kasi Brown formed a writing partnership with Brandon Walter as a consolation prize after he hit on her following an Upright Citizen’s Brigade improv class and she shot him down being a card-carrying lesbian. They began collaborating on a comedy web series, Mother Approved, which made the front page of Funny or Die as a user pick and two-time editor pick. They then went on to write/direct the comedy feature, Gone Doggy Gone, which won 12 awards at 18 festivals and was picked up for distribution. Chris Packham, LA Weekly said, “The film’s sweetness, its storyline and the script’s cartoony characters recall Raising Arizona.” Most recently, Kasi was a quarterfinalist for Shorescripts with her screenplay, The Man She Was. And Brandon was a quarterfinalist for the Scriptapalooza comedy feature category with his screenplay, Smile and Dial. The pair is currently Zoom drafting their way through several scripts.
