Jane Houghton and Andrew Budd have designed and completed projects that explore their mutual interest in the relationship between a project's setting, its composition and the materials of its construction. Projects are always treated as site specific, bespoke commissions, applying our consistent concerns to deliver ideas that are transformative yet rooted in their settings, designing rooms and buildings that are timeless, long-lasting and with a clarity of thought and attention to detail. We enjoy working with materials in an honest and explicit manner and have always strenuously argued for a sustainable approach to our projects which favours longevity over immediate sensation and are now working with a number of highly experienced suppliers and contractors who share our values and commitment. Completed projects have been published in both the national and architectural press including The Financial Times and Architects Journal. Jane and Andrew are both senior lecturers at Kingston University, currently running an MA architecture unit. They have also been visiting tutors and critics at other leading schools of architecture including The Architectural Association The Cass and Sheffield and Nottingham Universities.
