Established in 1964 initially as a sole trader, eventually developed into a company to concentrate primarily on the importation, sale and distribution of foodstuffs, biscuits and other baked products, sugar confectionery, chocolates and roasted nuts, most of which were sold through food stores. Due to changes in Government policy in the late 1980’s, with local markets being more liberalised, a strategy was adopted for RTA. to considerably expand its food importation business. This expansion has been complemented by a massively increased portfolio of food and other products, in order to meet escalating demand and changing tastes. The company imports on its own account, having its own frozen, chilled and ambient warehousing facilities. Having a strong sales team of 12 sales representatives, the company is active in both the retail and HORECA sectors. These are supported by a distribution network consisting of 11 trucks ensuring weekly supplies to all clients, as well as a team of Merchandisers and Promoters who ensure the best presentation and exposure of all the Company’s products and brands. The company has been very successful in introducing new brands on the local market and some can now be considered household names. The ability to introduce new brands and product lines, continuous marketing programs, and aggressive sales techniques enable the company to gain further inroads into the FMCG market.
