APL Engineered Materials, Inc
www.aplmaterials.comIn research & development, pilot-scale, and commercial manufacturing high purity & ultra-dry metal halides, amalgams, metals and other chemicals are a necessity. APL works hard to supply you with quality materials in a timely manner that works well for your specific application. APL Engineered Materials, Inc., an Advanced Lighting Technologies company, was founded in August 1944 by Dr. Scott Anderson in Urbana, Illinois. He established the Anderson Physics Laboratory to perform contract research for industrial customers. In the late 1950s, under a grant from the US Atomic Energy Commission, Anderson Physics Laboratory began to purify alkali halides. Around this time, lamp companies began to use our purified salts. Our patented process of producing ultra-dry, high purity salts and amalgams increased the efficiency and life of high-pressure discharge lamps. Our client list continues to include most of the lamp manufacturers in the world. Since 2015, we have been adding new products in the radiation detection market. These include high purity cesium iodide, thallium iodide, lanthanum bromide, cerium bromide, strontium iodide, europium iodide, 6Li salts, etc. The scintillator raw materials are used by you to grow single crystals or make flat panel displays with end applications in security and medical imaging. We continue to grow our presence in other energy markets by providing you with key raw materials for photovoltaics, energy storage, displays and the nuclear industries.
