Contact North | Contact Nord is Ontario’s community-based bilingual distance education and training network, helping underserved residents in 1,300+ small, rural, remote, Indigenous and Francophone communities access education and training without leaving their communities. We are a not-for-profit corporation funded by the Government of Ontario. Contact North | Contact Nord has two main functions: • To recruit students for online programs and courses from Ontario’s public colleges, universities, Indigenous institutes and others • To help students meet their education and employment goals no matter what corner of the province they call home Our local staff in 78 physical locations — we call them online learning centres — across Ontario deliver free services in English and French, both in person and virtually: • Information on online programs and courses from 24 public colleges, 25 public universities, 9 Indigenous institutes, 76 district school boards, 200 literacy and basic skills providers, and 20 skills development training providers • Help to register, and information on financial aid • Study Online Successfully service • Technology Support Services, including IT Technical Hotline; Student Technology Loan Service (laptops and Internet); use of computers and Internet; use of web conferencing platforms; and supervision of exams and tests Each year we: • Fulfill 1.7 million requests for services • Generate 90,000+ course registrations for Ontario’s education and training providers • Attract 1.7+ million pageviews of our web properties Our web portals provide targeted information and resources for various audiences: • studyonline.ca - for students and prospective students (high school, college, university and skills development) • teachonline.ca - for faculty and instructors • e-Channel.ca - for literacy and basic skills students Our corporate website: http://contactnorth.ca Our student information hotline: 1-877-999-9149
