The Comitato Leonardo – Italian Quality Committee was created in 1993 from inspiration of Sergio Pininfarina and Gianni Agnelli by the Italian Trade Promotion Agency (ICE) and the Association of Italian Industries (Confindustria). Our mission is to promote the excellence of Italian lifestyle and Made in Italy products: a unique and outstanding synthesis of creativity, design, quality and innovation representing the real competitive advantage of Italian companies abroad. At present, it consists of 148 Members co-opted amongst entrepreneurs and outstanding personalities in the field of art, science and culture, willing to share their common view on Italy. The Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Economic Development and the Minister of Culture also belong to the Comitato Leonardo as honorary Members. ICE and Confindustria provide strategic and operational support to our activities to create synergies between business, art, culture and science. Comitato Leonardo’s involvement goes beyond the mere promotion of the image of Made in Italy; in fact it puts forward several initiatives, such as scholarships and Italian local business meetings with the aim of promoting exchange and cooperation amongst local business communities as actors of Made in Italy. Every year, the Comitato Leonardo - Italian Quality Committee awards the Leonardo Prize, the Leonardo Italian Quality Prize and the Leonardo International Prize.
