Mikey’s Miracle Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created as a tribute to the amazing life, character and unwavering faith of Michal Sharon Neverdon-Merritt, PhD. On January 25, 2016, Michal, affectionately known as Mikey, transitioned after a lengthy and courageous battle with colon cancer. Although her physical presence is no longer here, her spirit and legacy will continue to live on through the lives of others who will be supported by Mikey’s Miracle Foundation, Inc. For cancer did not win this battle; in fact, the victory has just begun. Mikey’s Miracle Foundation, Inc., is the vision realized of Jade Nicole Neverdon Merritt, Mikey’s daughter. In November 2015, Jade took a leave of absence from work to care for her mother along with a host of family members and friends until Mikey’s transition. Through this process, it became clear to Jade that cancer is a disease that not only affects the patient, but also the patient’s family, loved ones and caregivers. Moved to honor the life and legacy of Michal, Jade founded Mikey’s Miracle to fill a void in the programs and support services available to cancer patients and their caregivers. We provide a comprehensive and holistic approach in treatment of a disease that does not discriminate against race, age or gender. With the rising costs of healthcare, it is our vision to provide sustainable programs and support services that improve the quality of life for patients receiving cancer treatment and their families at an affordable or no cost at all. We seek to gain funding through federal grants, individual donors and corporate sponsors in the Baltimore Metropolitan and surrounding areas. Support services offered include: Early Detection Planning/Screening , Family Counseling & Mediation, Pastoral/Spiritual Counseling, In-Home Skilled Nursing , Meal Planning/Nutritional Services, Appointment Transportation, Professional Cleaning Services & Employment Benefits & Resources
