The Canadian accounting profession is united under the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. The profession's national body, Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), consolidated the operations of three national accounting bodies: The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), the Certified General Accountants of Canada (CGA-Canada) and The Society of Management Accountants of Canada (CMA Canada).
