Danny & Rons Rescue
www.dannyronsrescue.org"We support the welfare of all dogs. We rescue dogs into our home, embrace them as our own, and help them find forever homes." The Rescue began in 2005 when Founders, Danny Robertshaw & Ron Danta, saved 600 abandoned and injured dogs following Hurricane Katrina, bringing them to their home, caring for them, and finding loving families. Over the years, the Rescue has adopted more than 13,000 dogs. Danny & Ron’s Rescue is unlike other rescue organizations. Founded on the strong belief that an abused, neglected or abandoned dog can only recover and learn to trust in a loving home, Danny & Ron have turned their own house into “The Doghouse,” providing the ultimate safe haven. They live with the dogs, sometimes more than 80 at a time, personally caring for injured and abused animals until they are ready for adoption. This opportunity to live with humans in a real home environment prepares the dog for a more successful adoption and life with a loving family. The uniqueness of their approach, their passion to save dogs, and their personal life story is portrayed in the movie “Life in the Doghouse” which, when released in 2018, brought national attention to the work of the Rescue, and the importance of adoption and humane treatment of dogs.
