CarpoolWorld provides free global ride-matching services for individuals and fee-based ridesharing systems for organizations. CarpoolWorld has registered hundreds of thousands of users since its launch in 2000. CarpoolWorld also hosts hundreds of carpool groups for businesses, schools, hospitals and regional transportation authorities. CarpoolWorld's founders were awarded the first U.S. patent for computerized ride-matching in 2004, and have continued to innovate ridesharing functionality. In January 2017 CarpoolWorld introduced a premium group service featuring its new transportation emergency module, which allows organizations to prepare mass notifications in advance, to be used in the event of any disruption to the normal transportation network or work sites, thereby adding business continuity to the economic and ecological benefits of real ridesharing.
