Well Kept Money
www.tpimovement.orgTPIM: “A Movement towards Financial Freedom” Established November 2017, The People’s Innovation Movement (TPIM) is a nonprofit organization created for the people, by the people. Created from a young man’s experience working for a commercial bank, Nisiar Smith – founder and CEO – has made it his goal to educate the low-income community on finances. With his team of equally dedicated and experienced professionals, Smith created an organization to help people similar to those denied by his previous employer. Furthermore, TPIM strives to educate the community on subjects people are interested in and on subjects that people are inevitably facing. We designed workshops that cover a plethora of topics ranging from homeownership education to entrepreneurial finance and even to student loan counseling. Offering free workshops every Saturday for two hours, the Movement is able to briefly educate the community, with the intention of planting innovative seeds that will help individuals flourish within their lives. TPIM is completely focused and dedicated to the complete development of every individual who attends a workshop. Moreover, TPIM has created a subdivision that has already began to engage the Philadelphia school district: Project 214. Project 214 was created to provide similar financial education to high school students. Understanding that many financial mistakes or misunderstandings are generational, TPIM decided to provide education to low-income individuals during their adolescent years.
