www.wwta.ab.caThe Western Wood Truss Association of Alberta (WWTA-AB) was formed in 1983. Presently thirty-two truss fabricating plants are Members plus numerous companies closely associated with the truss manufacturers as Associate Members. WWTA-AB is a charter member of the Canadian Wood Truss Association, a partner with the Canadian Wood Council in the woodWorks! program, an affiliate member of TPIC and a Certifying Partner in the Alberta Human Resources and Employment Workplace Health and Safety Partnerships program. The mission of the association is: -To promote public safety by participating in development and establishment of building codes, -To assist members in creating a safe work environment in their places of business by developing strategies to reduce injuries, -To represent the industry when dealing with professional groups and officials, -To set a uniform standard of excellence for the industry and it's partners through developing: Quality Assurance Programs, A Code of Standard Practice, Training courses for industry employees and related trades and officials, -To promote the industry to Professional Specifiers, -To help colleges and universities with training of young professionals, -To assist in development and establishment of uniform standards for the design of prefabricated trusses, -To do all other things to foster and develop the wood truss industry consistent with the law and in the mutual interest of the Members of the Association.
