Promoting and protecting hang gliding and paragliding in the United States. This is Flying. This is freedom. Since 1973, the non-profit organization has sanctioned chapters around the country who support flying sites and work to protect access to public lands for recreational use. USHPA also sanctions competitions and events to build awareness of the sport while administering the 10,000 member pilots that make up the association. USHPA operates a pilot proficiency and instructor rating program and provides access to group insurance. USHPA’s monthly magazine, Hang Gliding & Paragliding, disseminates safety information, fosters community and celebrates the dream of bird-like flight. And much more!
