The AngelMed Guardian®, the first implantable, patient alerting system designed to warn patients to seek medical attention for Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) including heart attacks. Symptoms (such as chest pain) are a poor predictor of ACS events with less than 20% of patients presenting to the emergency room actually having a true positive ACS event and more than one third of heart attacks having atypical or no symptoms.
