The Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute (NRCI) is dedicated to providing resources, community, and hope to those struggling with mental health issues and to those who support them. In particular, NRCI works with community and mental health centers, faith-based communities, educational institutions, and veterans and military personnel. Marilyn and Larry Cohen founded the Institute in 2002 in honor of their daughter Naomi Ruth Cohen who lost her life in 2000 at age 33 due to Bipolar Disorder. Our mission is to reduce the stigma that for far too long has been a barrier to individuals and families being able to access the treatment and support that they need and deserve. NRCI partnered with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2008 to achieve organizational efficiencies and increase our impact.
