La Madre Bakery is an artisan bakery based in Geelong, Victoria. We work hard to produce breads full of gracious goodness and take the time to look after the people in our business and the environment we work and live within. La Madre (Italian for ‘The Mother’) represents the generations-old mother culture that we use to start our sourdough breads. Using nothing more adaptable than our bakers’ hands, each loaf is created with loving attention. We uphold the traditional techniques of artisanal baking to ensure each loaf or sweet treat is of the highest quality. We scour the land for the finest ingredients using freshly milled flours, filtered water, pure sea salt and natural air borne yeast. Where possible, we use tasty local heroes like the Kalamata olives in our Olive Sourdough, sourced right here in Victoria from the wonderful Mount Zero. And, of course, it is a definite ‘No’ to nasty preservatives and additives. And it’s not just about us, it’s actually all about you. We’re committed to quality and consistency in every item we offer you and have some serious bread & pastry aficionados at BreadQuarters to answer queries you may have about any of our products.
